new things
So the wife got me an iPod touch for Christmas. I’ve been downloading stupid, useless apps for it but with this wordpress app I’m hoping to be able to post more to this blog.
As long as I can find a wi-fi connection, that is.

So, as the new year ends, I find myself in a new and weird place. I have a new hybrid, a new job, and a new macbook.
The new job was supposed to allow me to have more time to spend with the hybrid and more time to write, but that isn’t happening. I pick him up from the grandparent’s home after work, but then have to help the wife make dinner during which the hybrid is usually sleeping. Then we watch a little television and go to bed. Or I fall asleep during while watching the damn tv.
Also, I’ve dropped just about every writing project I’ve had, including the 100 words. One of the coordinators sent an e-mail to the group stating that she was looking for things from the group that I didn’t really want to do. So I guess you can say that I left it due to ‘creative differences’. Never thought I would say that about anything.
The only other projects that I have are the Uké manga, which looks like it is on hold, and a website design that is two months late. Go figure. Oh, and then there’s is the secret project that I didn’t tell anyone about that is also looking like it is on hold.
Next year I plan on doing some things for me. Like more writing. I’ve got some ideas that just may work.
Happy new year.
I’m not going to bore anyone with what’s been going on the last few weeks. If you don’t know by now it doesn’t really matter. I will just point out a couple of things of note.
One: There’s a couple of new 100 word stories.
Two: The writing group I work with on the 100 words will be having a reading/discussion this Wednesday, 11.November.2009 from 6.00pm to 8.00pm at NJCU in the Gothic Lounge. (Room 202 in Hepburn Hall) If you’re around the area and would like to hear some really short stories, come on by. There will be a bunch of us reading fives stories each, and then some sort of discussion, q & a thing afterward.
It’s free to so count yourself as invited.
Life sure does love to get in the way of living, doesn’t it?
Since the hybrid was born, nothing has been the same, not a damn thing. Mostly not living in our own apartment. Having to stay with the in-laws is quite uncomfortable, not to mention it puts a damper on my own computer time.
And then there’s work. Not having a regular nine-to-five job is a real pain in the ass. Though, this should change in the upcoming couple of weeks thanks to a new job. This should give me to write more, let alone spend more time with the hybrid. But by writing more, I can actually get my projects done.
Besides writing, I also have a couple of website design/building gigs; one paid, one for a friend (so not paid). Still, it’s good to mix it up a bit, keeps the mind fresh.
I haven’t heard from the director, producer, or writer of the play I was working on so I guess I’m through with that officially. Which is a good thing because that annoyed the hell out of me.
So besides living by means of my crackberry, I haven’t had much time for anything. Coming back home in the next week and a half will help, plus that new job I mentioned, and I guess it’ll back to almost normal for me.
Oh, new 100 words up.
New 100 words up.
Still not home yet, still not with regular interweb access yet, still not anywhere near normal. But I’m guessing that’s okay for now.
Whoa, where the hell have I been?!
Well, let’s see….
This is all well and good but I also have actual work to do. I need to continue working on that project I mentioned weeks ago that I am working on with a friend. I’m going to be two weeks behind this Friday. I have to figure out what I’m going to do since I don’t have my own iMac with me more, or even a MacBook of my own to use. Using the in-law’s computer doesn’t really help because I don’t have my files and I don’t want to tie up their machine(s).
And to add insult to injury, I forgot to write my 100 words last Friday.
I can’t wait to be back in my own apartment where I can do whatever I please.
I’m writing this while my son is sleeping not more than three feet away from me. The wife is sleeping in another room so if the son starts crying he won’t disturb her. So far, so good though. Changed his diaper and he fell right back to sleep. My shift ends at three this morning, a mere hour and ten minutes from now.
Why am I telling you all this? Don’t really know other than to say that the new 100 words is up and you should go head over to read it.
